dc.description.abstract | Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a prolonged disease
that can lead to the loss of patiens’s quality of life. Supportive therapy is
recommended in the treatment of COPD patients to improve the quality of life is
the medical rehabilitation.
This research uses a quasi experimental design with pretest-posttest
control group design. The population used is patients with chronic obstructive
pulmonary disease (COPD) who are hospitalized at the Hospital Respira
Yogyakarta. The amount of the sample is 66 patients and the data is taken from
total sampling.
The statistical test of the mean pre-test and post-test SGRQ scores
indicates that in the experimental group, there were significant differences in the
domain of activities (p = 0,000), the impact domain (p = 0,000) and total score (p
= 0,000). While, in the control group there are also significant differences in the
domain of activities (p = 0,007), the impact domain (p = 0,023) and total score (p
= 0,002). The analysis test on improvement SGRQ scores between the
experimental group and the control group shows significant difference in domain
activities (p = 0,000), the impact domain (p = 0,000) and total score (p = 0,000).
From the results of this study, it can be concluded that patients with
COPD have a better quality of life after getting treatment and medical
rehabilitation pranayama techniques that affect the patient’s quality of life with
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. | en_US |
