      Abstract
      This study aims to describe how the students perceive the implementation of two stay two stray strategy used by the lecturer at EED of UMY difficulties and the advantages and disadvantages of the implementation of two stay two stray used by the lecturer. The research was conducted at English Education Department of UMY. The participants of this research were three EED students batch 2014. The researcher used an interview to collect the data. In analyzing the data, the researcher used coding. The findings of the research showed the implementation of two stay two stray strategy used by lecturer made the students enjoy and happy during the learning process. Then the implementation of two stay two stray was beneficially applied in reading activities and makes students’ reading understanding gained better improvement. There were three advantages of TSTS. The first, TSTS made the students easier to understand the lesson. The second, two stay two stray made the students got and share a lot of information. The third, two stay two stray develops students’ social life. Meanwhile, there were two disadvantages of two stay two stray. The first, the different background knowledge made the students were difficult to reach the goals. The second, the less motivated students were difficult to discuss with.
