      Abstract
      Teacher leadership is very important in teaching and learning process. Techer leadership can give a a positive results in improving students’ learning achievement. Teacher leadership also can increase teachers’ confidence in their own abilities in pedagogical knowledge and moral value such as motivating and leading the other people in school. The purposes of this research are first to find out the condition of teacher leadership at English Education Department of University Muhammadiyah Yogakarta (EED of UMY); Second, to find out the condition of students’ learning achievement at EED of UMY; and third, to figure out the correlation between teacher leadership and students’ learning achievement at EED of UMY. This research employed quantitative approach. This research involved 62 students’ of EED UMY year 2014 that randomly chosen as the samples. Batch 2014 itself has 151 students and it was designed as the population. A set of questionnaires was distributed on July 2017. Descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data collected. Descriptive statistics was used to answer the research questions about the condition of teacher leadership and students learning achievement. After that, an inferential statistic was used to reveal the correlation between teacher leadership and students’ learning achievement at EED of UMY. At the end, this research used standard guideline to measure the strength of association between the two variables. The study on teacher leadership, students’ learning achievement and the correlation between those variables revealed that the condition of teacher leadership at EED of UMY was in the category of good with the mean score of 3.07. It was included in good level and it means that teachers at EED of UMY fulfill all of the requirements of teacher leadership. Meanwhile, the students’ learning achievement at EED of UMY was included in good level with the mean score 3.30. Then, there is significant value between teacher leadership and students’ learning achievement with the mean score 0.002 and it means that there are positive correlation between teacher leadership and students’ learning achievement at EED of UMY and the altenative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted. After that, the pearson correlation value was 0.379, it means that based on the standard guideline of the association between two variables, the relationship between teacher leadership and students’ learning achievement was in a moderate level.
