      Abstract
      Students’ interest in teachers’ personality may have relation to students’ learning which is associated with the academic achievement. This study was aimed to examine the students’ interest in their teachers’ personality at English Education Depatment of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, to investigate the students’ academic achievement at EED of UMY, and to measure the correlation between students’ interest in their teachers’ personality and academic achievement at EED of UMY. This study was conducted at EED of UMY. The research population was the students batch 2013, 2014, and 2015 with the total number of population of 433 students. The instrument of this study was the questionnaire which was distributed to 99 EED students batch 2013, 2014, and 2015 by direct and indirect method. The data collection was conducted on May 2017. The result of this study revealed that the EED students’ interest to their teachers’ personality was categorized as moderate with the percentage 65.7%. Meanwhile, the result of the EED students’ academic achievement was good. In average, 53.5% of the EED students or 53 students got the good CGPA (2.76 – 3.50). The result also discovers that there is positive and significant relation (p. 0.03) between EED students’ interest in teachers’ personality and academic achievement. Yet, the degree of association is relatively weak (r 0.215).
