      Abstract
Removable orthodontic appliances have active components tat assist in tooth moving. Finger spring, made of 0,6 mm diameter austenitic stainless steel orthodontic wire, is one of active component that is the most widely used. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of temperature towaeds the resiliense of finger spring’s stainless steel wires. Samples used in this research were 20 finger springs, already activated in acrylic plates, which were divided into 4 groups. Group 1, the control group, consist of finger springs put at a given temperature of 37°C. Finger springs in group 2 were put at the temperature of 15°C. Gtoup 3.s finger springs were treated with the temperatue of 65°C. Temperatures given at finger springs in group 4 were 15°C and 65°C. All samples were put under those particular temperatures for one minute daily until 7 week. The measurement used a tension gauge to assess the resilience. Statictical paired sample t-test revealed a value of (p<0,05) for group 2 and 3, indicating a significant difference on those two groups. One way ANOVA test resulted in score of (P<0,05), which means that there were significant diffeences on each group. The worst drop of resilience value was seen on samples in group 3.
