      Abstract
Background : Composite resins comprising an matriks, filler, and coupling agent. Initially, the filler used for the composite is derived from the quartz material. However, the glass material in the composite resin has some drawbacks, the production of glass is highly dependent on fossil fuels, it is non-degradable, nonrenewable. Therefore, now began to be pursued the use of natural fiber composite resin as a substitute for glass material such as sisal fiber (Agave sisalana). Objective :This study aims to determine the effect of volume amount of filler wt% on the hardness of nanosisal composite resin. Methods:This type of research is a laboratory experimental study. The research samples used cylindrical mold with diameter of 5mm and height 2mm. The samples were divided into four groups (A, B, C, D) with five samples each. Group A used filler with volume 60wt%, group B 65 wt%, group C 70 wt% and group D used Z350 filtek Nanofiller composite resin. The sample was tested for hardness using micro vickers. Non-parametric test of Kruskal Walliswere used for statistical analysis. Result : Composite resin with 60 wt% filler volume has an average compressive strength of 10.8 VHN, 65 wt% filler volume is 20.4 VHN,70 wt% filler volume is 13,8 VHN and Z350 composite resin is 44.6 VHN. Result of non-parametric statistic test Kruskal Wallis known value p = 0,001 p <0,05 (p = 0,001 <0,05). Conclusion :There is an effect of volume amount of filler wt% on the hardness of nanosisal composite resin with a significant difference.
