      Abstract
      Background: The high birth rated in Indonesia caused the number of people increasing every year. If the quantity not balanced with the quality, it will harm our country, so that it becomes a reason to control the population growth. Contraception be one of many way to decrease the rate of population growth. This study is required to determine which of contraception does not interfere with the menstrual cycle regularity and convenient to use. Method: This study is a prospective cohort of non-experimental approach carried out for 6 months. The samples were 30 acceptors of oral contraceptives and 30 acceptors of contraceptive injection in Midwife Siti Rahmawati, Samirejo, Dawe, Kudus, Central Java. This study data analysis using Chi-Square correlation test. Result: The prevalence of menstrual cycle regularity acceptors of oral contraceptives is higher than the acceptor contraceptive injection (90%; 13%). On the results of the analysis with chi-square test obtained significant numbers p = 0.000 (p <0.05) significantly. Conclusions: There is a relationship between oral contraceptive use and injection of the menstrual cycle regularity in Midwife Siti Rahmawati, Samirejo, Dawe, Kudus, Central Java. Based on this research, for women who want to use contraception, it is recommended to use oral contraceptives because it does not interfere with the menstrual cycle
