This research aimed at learning the reading skill of Kitab Kuning between male and female talabah and what the difference in Kitab Kuning reading skill between male and female talabah is. The type of the research is qualitative descriptive. The subjects of the research were the entire talabah of Pendidikan Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah (PUTM) Yogyakarta – the Education of Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah – in the third semester. The subjects of the research were obtained using purposive sampling. The data were collected using documentation method in order to get the grades of Education of Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah (PUTM) Yogyakarta talabah, and interview in order to strengthen the data collected. The data were then analyzed using Two Way ANOVA statistic analysis. The conclusion of the research is that the reading skill 17 the Education of Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah male talabah in the third semester was good and so was the reading skill of 12 female talabah in the third semester. Therefore there was no significant difference between the reading skill of male and female talabah. This was indicated with the value of F significance which was Sig 0,05. This was because there was no difference in the teaching methodology of Kitab Kuning between male and female talabah in the Education of Ulama Tarjih Muhammadiyah (PUTM) Yogyakarta.
