PENGARUH BENTUK KAMPUH TERHADAP KUALITAS DEPOSIT DAN EFISIENSI SAMBUNGAN LAS BUSUR PADA BAHAN ST 37
Abstract
The objective of this research is to investigate the effect of welding grove grove type on the quality of welding deposit and joint efficiency. I and V groves, and thickness of 5, 8.5 and 11 mm were chosen due to common use in general structures. There are fourteen specimens that consist of six I-groves, 6 V-groves, and two unwelded specimens. Every I-grove and V-grove specimens consists of two specimens of each thickness, while the two unweldede specimens are functions as reference strength for determining joint efficiensy.
After being joint using welding technique, the specimens were etched and inspected to investigate whether there is any surface defect or not. The next steps are forming the specimens according to the standard test geometry and dimensions, and stretching them using a universal testing machines to determine their strengths and calculate joint efficiency. The macrostructure data were then presented in a table, while joint efficiency data were analyzed using two-way analysis of variance.
The result shows that: (1) There is no significant difference in both joint efficiency even at 95% confidence interval and depositing quality between the used two groves, (2) there is significant interaction between the two groves in determining joint efficiency at 95% confidence interval only.
