PEMAKAIAN STRAIN GAGE FOIL UNTUK PENGUKURAN REGANGAN STATIS BALOK KANTILEVER
Abstract
This experiment is dealing with a use of strain gage in measuring static strain of a cantilever beam. The beam is of 10" or 254 mm length x 63/64" or 25 mm wide x 23/64" or 9.1 mm height. An EA-09-125AD-120 tYpe of foil resistance strain gage
with 2.105 gaqe factor and 720 ohm resistance was installed 7" or 177.8 mm from the beam free end. The beam is made of 6061-T6 aluminum. ln measuring the strain, a P3500-type of direct reading strain indicator made by Measurement Group was used. After being clamped onto a rigid frame, the beam was loaded with various loads of 7lb or 4.4536 kg to 50lb-s or 22.68
kgs, and their respective strains were measured and recorded. These values together with their respective theoretical values where then presented as a graph. To determine data linearity, regression technique was employed. It was found that the strain is linearly proportional to the load as shown by F-reg > F-t for 99 percent confident interval and 1 versus 37 degrees of freedom, and F-lin > F-t for 99 percent confident interval and 9 versus 22 degrees of freedom. The dependency of strains
on loads is very high as shown by the coefficient of correlation, R = 0.9993.
