Cooperation between the government or a sister city is a phenomenon that is now frequently encountered. Bandung, Indonesia is one of the cities that are active in the implementation of international cooperation of local governments. One of local government which had cooperation sister city with Bandung is Petaling Jaya, Malaysia and has been established since 2015. This research aims to explain the reason why Bandung is cooperating with Petaling Jaya by a program called as sister city. Furthermore, the method that was used by the writer was qualitative methods by using primary data from interview with Bandung Government and some stakeholders as interviewees and by using secondary data such as book, journal, news article and another relevant literary sources. The concept to analyze this case in this research is sister city concept. The results of this study indicate the reason Bandung still cooperating with Petaling Jaya is the climate of the two different cities used to cooperate in agriculture sector, a business opportunity that is considered very beneficial for the welfare of the people of Bandung, Petaling Jaya City is an advanced satellite city in the field of tourism and has good city layout, the city of Petaling Jaya is an education city so that it can made an opportunity to establish cooperation in the field of education and culture.
