      Abstract
      This study aims to determine: (1) the motivation to learn the religion of students, (2) the use of CD media in learning PAI (Islamic Religious Education), and (3) the increasing motivation of learning religion of students class V B SD Negeri Keputran 2 Yogyakarta. This study wants to prove empirically whether there is an increase in religious learning motivation after using CD media in learning PAI. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with mixed method approach. Subjects in this study were students of class V B SD Negeri Keputran 2 Yogyakarta with the technique of determining subject with purposive sampling. Methods of data collection were done through interviews, observation, questionnaires and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, while qualitative data were analyzed using Miler and Huberman’s theory which included data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results show that: (1) the motivation of studying religion on cycle I is still quite low with a percentage of 47.72%. While the criteria in cycle II is already high with percentage of 69.17%. (2) CD media in learning PAI operated through laptops and then displayed via LCD and projector. This media is used to conduct learning in order to increase the motivation to learn religion. (3) There is increased motivation to learn religion from cycle I to cycle II. The increase was marked by the increase of observation result in cycle I and cycle II of 35.74%. While the increase from the result of questionnaire is equal to 7.17%. Overall the increase in learning motivation from cycle I to cycle II is equal to 21.45%.
