      Abstract
      This study aims to: 1) know how the implementation of Ummi method in improving the ability of reading Al-Quran for students of MI Kresna and, 2) know the factors supporting and inhibiting of Ummi method in improving the ability to read Al-Quran for students of MI Kresna. This research is qualitative research type. It is a research whose data source is in the form of spoken or written words observed by the researchers, and the objects observed to detail. Seen from the source of data, this research is field research that is research whose data collection is in the field with descriptive qualitative research approach, which is research that directly conducted in field or responder. Data analysis techniques uses the credibility test and the process of data collection through data collection, data reduction presentation of data, and the last is conclusion. The research results are: 1) the implementation of Ummi method in improving the ability of reading Al-Quran for students of MI Kresna has been done well. This is evidenced by a very structured and well-controlled learning plan. 2) Supporting and inhibiting factors of Ummi method in improving the ability of reading Al-Quran for students of MI Kresna including the factor of sufficient professional teacher, the factor of students who are conducive in the implementation of Ummi method, factor of parents that support the Al-Quran learning at home, and factors of sufficient facilities and infrastructure to support the achievement of maximum results in learning A-Quran.
