This research aims to find out effects of internships and dominant factors influencing student’s interest after internship to work in sharia banks. This research carried out qualitative descriptive. The population of the research were 12 students of Economics and Islamic Banking batch 2014 in Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta who had the internship in syaria bank and the head of mini banksin Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. The data of the research were collected by doing observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the research are (1) internship affected students’ interest to work in sharia banks although they had little working experience. (2) There were dominant factors influencing students’ interest to work in sharia banks namely the knowledge about economic and Islamic banking learn during their study, working environment factors when the students had their internship.
