      Abstract
      This research is aimed to know Da’wah strategies implemented by Muhammadiyah Orphanage and Boarding School Abu Dzar Al-Ghifari as well as the supporting factors and hindering factors. This is a qualitative research with ustadz (Islamic religious preachers) and caregivers of Muhammadiyah orphanage and Islamic boarding school Abu Dzar Al-Ghifari. The data of the research were collected from interview, observation, and documentation, while the descriptive analysis technique was used to analyze the obtained data. The findings of the research are (1) Da’wah strategies developed by Muhammadiyah Orphanage and Islamic boarding school Abu Dzar Al-Ghifari are building the foster children’s belief values, giving good examples to the foster children, giving moral lessons, giving motivation to the students to be more determined and motivated in learning aimed to shape the students’ good behavior such as praying on time, cooperation and togetherness in cleaning the school, giving reward and punishment to the foster children, (2) the adequate supporting factors are qualified teachers and caregivers, 3) the hindering factors are different background of the students, and unsupportive family of the foster children.
