      Abstract
      The purpose of this research was to understand the characteristics and conditions of the region (based on food accessibility) with regard to food security. The research was conducted in Bantul Regency at the village level, with a total 75 villages. The measurement of access conditions was based four indicators, namely:1)poverty, 2) access to electricity, 3) unemployment, 4) unfeasible housing. Secondary data are used for this research form Regional Planing Board (Bappeda), Department of Population and Civil Register (Disdukcapil) and Menpower Office (Disnaker) Bantul Regency. The result of this research indicated that based on poverty 46,66% region of Bantul District classified in food security category, based on unelectricity access is all of region classified in intense food security, based on unemployment 57,33% classified in food security condition, based on suitability of housing 94,67% classified on intense food security priority. Overall food security conditions are good, but there are still two rather vulnerable villages, namely Selopamioro Village dan Wonolelo Villaege..
