PERSEPSI PENDIDIKAN RADIKAL MENURUT PONDOK PESANTREN ISLAM DARUSY
Abstract
This study aims to determine the perception of Darusy Syahadah Islamic
Boarding School against the teachings of radicalism. It is a doctrine that teaches a
person to commit an act of violence, intolerance, and spread hatred in society.
This research was conducted at Darusy Syahadah Islamic Boarding School, Simo,
Boyolali, Surakarta. The subjects of this research are the director of Islamic
Boarding School, teachers, and students. The data collection methods include: (1)
Interview (2) Observation (3) Documentation. The collected data is analyzed in
several ways, namely: (1) data reduction (2) data presentation (3) data
verification.
The results of the perception of radical education according to Darusy
Syahadah Islamic Boarding School are: The views of students of Darusy
Syahadah towards radicalism are (1) radical behavior like terrorism is wrong and
not part of Islamic teachings, (2) students denied the allegations that Darusy
Shahadah taught radicalism, and (3) the way to avoid the radical teachings for
santri is to study the true teachings of Islam by referring to the Qur’an and sunnah.
The views of teachers of Darusy Syahadah’s on radical behavior are: (1) Islam
never teaches radical teachings, so those who behave radically are those who do
not understand Islam completely, (2) radical teachings and behavior are in
contrast to what is taught in Darusy Syahadah Islamic Boarding School, and (3)
the teachers of Darusy Syahadah condemns all forms of terrorist acts in the name
of Islam.
The views of Darusy Syahadah Islamic boarding school against Islamic
boarding schools which are accused to be radical are: (1) rejecting all false
allegations aimed to Darusy Syahadah and Islamic boarding schools all over
Indonesia, (2) the accusations against Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia have
no solid foundation, so when it comes to issuing statements, the government must
have strong evidence not to fall into defamation and give the bad name of the
Islamic boarding school, and (3) Darusy Syahadah opens a dialogue opportunity
for anyone who wants to ask for clarification from the Islamic boarding school on
all accusations.
