This thesis will discuss about the foreign policy adopted by Russia in facing the current conflict in Syria in 2011. The conflict in Syria is a fairly complex conflict that is the conflict between the Syrian rebels who want to overthrow the power of President Bashar Al-Assad facing pro-government soldiers against President Bashar Al-Assad. This conflict is more complicated when it involves other countries between the United States that support rebel forces and also Russia who support the government of Bashar Al-assad. Russia became a Syrian supporter because it has several interests in the country. In addition Syria is an old ally of Russia in the Middle East.
