This study aims to: 1) find out the factors influencing the female students’ motivation of SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan, Sleman in wearing hijab, 2) to identify the inhibiting factors of the female students’ motivation of SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan, Sleman in wearing hijab. The type of the study was descriptive research, intended to investigate the situation and condition of which the results would be established in the form of research report. The approach applied was qualitative approach. The key subjects of this study were 7 female students. The data gathering method was observation, interview and documentation. Verification was conducted through approach with the informant, data collection, and information/data checking. The data analysis was conducted inductively, involving: data reduction and data presentation. Result shows that: 1) The Female students’ motivation of wearing hijab in SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan, Sleman is affected by several factors, including: internal factor (from individual) and external factor (from family, school and social environment). Internal factor reveals that there is lack of female students’ motivation in wearing hijab in SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan, Sleman. School environment is the most influential external factor that affects the female students to wear hijab. 2) The factors inhibiting the female students of SMK Negeri 1 Kalasan from wearing hijab are the feeling of inconvenience, embarrassment as a result of disturbances from other friends, and the compulsion of obeying the school
