      Abstract
This study was carried out for writing a thesis entitled “The Clustering Analysis Based on Financial Performance towards Bank Pembiayaan Rakyat Syariah (BPRS/Rural Syariah Banks ) in Indonesia Year 2013-2016”. The limitation of market share owned by syariah banking, especially BPRS, will influence the capability of BPRS in Indonesia to acquire their best performance. The analysis used in this study was descriftive and cluster. Variables used to measure the performance were CAR, BOPO, NPF, ROA and FDR. Result shows that the BPRS financial performance in Indonesia from 2013 to 2016 tend to be less satisfying although five variables have met the criteria established by the Indonesia bank. According to the clustering process towards BPRS performance in Indonesia, 58 BPRS as samples have been considered as free from outliers with Tukey’s Hinges method. Within 4 years, the cluster number formed had been changing. In 2013, 3 clusters were formed, while in 2014-2016 the same cluster number formed was 4. Annually, cluster that is likely to be good according to the variable used to measure financial performance has been found in cluster 3, by wich it has averagely 16 BPRS cluster members during 4 years. The one that is unlikely to be good is found in cluster 2, by which it has low performance on the annual operational costs or so called as BOPO, it also tends to perform low performance in yielding profit or so called as ROA. The average total of BPRS in cluster 2 within 4 years is 21 BPRS.
