      Abstract
Lubricants are chemicals that are generally liquid. The lubricant serves as a protective layer that separates the two related surfaces. Generally the lubricant consists of 90% base oil and 10% additives. Lubricant itself is needed on motor vehicles. Lubricating oil consists of several types of minerals, semi synthetic and full synthetic. This study aims to determine the effect of viscosity characteristics and thermal conductivity of some types of lubricating oil with SAE 10W-40 on the performance of Yamaha Jupiter Z 110 cc motorcycle in 2006. Using 3 synonymous lubricant oils namely Fastron Techno, Repsol Elite and Castrol Magnatec compared with oil lubricant standard semi-synthetic type of motor itself that is Yamalube Sport. Test methods include measurements of thermal conductivity, viscosity, torque, power, fuel consumption and working temperature. For fuel used is Pertalite RON 90 using Yamaha Jupiter Z 110 cc motor traveled 4 km at an average speed of 40 km / hour. From the test results obtained Repsol Elite oil viscosity is highest while the thermal conductivity of lubricant oil is highest. Maximum torque values influenced by Yamalube Sport lubricants of 8.61 N.m, Fastron Techno lubricating oil of 8.53 N.m, Repsol Elite lubricating oil of 9.75 N.m, and Castrol Magnatec lubricating oil of 9.10 N.m. For the maximum power value affected by Yamalube Sport lubricant of 8.30 HP, Fastron Techno lubricating oil of 8.50 HP, Repsol Elite lubricant of 8.50 HP, and Castrol Magnatec lubricating oil of 8.20 HP. The fuel consumption of Yamalube Sport lubricants gives the effect of distance for each liter of fuel as far as 47.17 km / liter, Fastron Techno lubricant as far as 49.33 km / liter, Repsol Elite lubricant as far as 48.75 km / liter, and lubricating oil Castrol Magnatec is 48.04 km / liter. It can be concluded from the data obtained that proving synthetic lubricant oil is better because the synthetic lubricant oil content has an addictive substance that can improve the function of lubricating oil when it operates.
