      Abstract
      The research aimed at learning the role of BMT (Financial Institution) Bina Ihsanul Fikri in improving the wealth of the people in Special Region of Yogyakarta by learning the roles and the impacts in terms of business, social, and economy function through capital financing. The research was a field research conducted with qualitative method. The primary data were collected by interview, questionnaire, and documentation. The secondary data were the internal data of BMT Bina Ihsanul Fikri. The research result indicated that BMT Bina Ihsanul Fikri had a very good role in improving the wealth by providing business capital financing for the members or people. The strategy formulation for the role of BMT Bina Ihsanul Fikri in improving people’s wealth in Special Region of Yogyakarta used SWOT matrix. S-O strategy (the improvement of service and guidance for the members toward capital financing therefore financial institution would reach the micro sector that was still wide open). W-O strategy (cooperation offer from BPRS-BUS and UUS about capital financing therefore financial institution could overcome capital difficulty experienced by BMT). S-T strategy (the improvement of service and guidance for the members toward capital financing therefore people would trust BMT so that it would eradicate money lender market). W-T strategy (the improvement of HR therefore BMT could compete with banks that reach micro business or other BMT competitors).
