      Abstract
      Drifting is one of driving techniques that needs dexterity of the driver to make the sliding of the vehicle when turning or having maneuver. One of the systems in the vehicle that plays very important role is steering wheel system. Steering wheel in Mitsubishi Lancer SL car is Recirculating Ball type. With this kind of steering wheel, it is very difficult for the drifter to make maneuver because steering wheel system with Recirculating Ball type is heavier than other types of steering wheel system. So, it needs development in the steering wheel system by changing it into steering wheel system of Rack and Pinion type that is lighter and enables the drifter to do maneuver or sliding. Besides, by using steering wheel system of Rack and Pinion type, the Super Angle could be maximized. After the development has been done to become steering wheel system of Rack and Pinion type, drifter could do drifting easier because of the light steering wheel system and the Super Angle that could be achieved.
