      Abstract
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) defined as a platelet concertation that contain over 300 bioactive molecules that has been widely used in oral and maxillofacial surgery to promote bone healing. PRP has the ability to be incorporated with scaffold for bone tissue enginering. Corals is a biomaterial that could be effectifelly used for scaffold as it has one of the biological properties that is biodegradation. This study aimed to determine the effects of Platelete-Rich Plasma (PRP) incorporation with the artificial coral scaffold CaCO3 5:5 towards Weight Loss profile The research design is laboratory research using experimental and post test design. Platelet-rich plasma was prepared by a double-spinning methode by Tabata and counted by using Giemsa pigmentation. The blood sample is taken from the lateral tail vein of wistar rats (rattus norvegicus). 24 artificial coral scaffolds were divided into a PRP incorporation group (n=12) and coral scaffolding alone group (n=12). The artifficial coral scaffold dipped in 75μl of PRP for 15 minutes. Materials Weight loss during degradation was calculated from the changes in the specimens dry weight before and after the incubation time period. After 2, 4, 6, dan 8 weeks of immersion in aquadest, the samples were removed from the fluid and dried in the oven at 37°C until complete weight stabilization. Data were analyzed by Independent T test and kruskal wallis. The result from Independent T test indicate that there is a different weight loss profile between the PRP incorporation group and coral scaffolding alone group on the second week where p=0,005 (p<0,05), fourth week p=0,000 (p<0,05), sixth week p=0,000, eighth p=0,000. Data from this result then analyzed by kruskal wallis, the result indicate that there is no signifficant different beetwen the PRP incorporation group and the scaffolding alone group. According to this study, significant difference was not observed between the artificial coral scafold with PRP incorporation group and the coral scaffold alone group on weight loss profile.
