      Abstract
      E. faecalis are the most bacteria that cause the failure of endodontic treatment when the recurrent infection happens. Beside chemical drugs, the compound that can be used as the alternative treatment is herbal medicament that has an antibacterial effect. One of them is ethanol extract of propolis (EEP). Purpose: This study aims to assess the growth of the Enterococcus faecalis bacteria towards the addition EEP from Apis trigona bees. This research is conducted as an experimental laboratory in vitro. The method used is liquid dilution on medium Brain Heart Infusion (BHI) and the measurement of turbidity using Spectrophotometer UV-vis. Extracts ethanol of propolis from Apis trigona bees were tested on the bacteria Enterococcus faecalis into some concentrations: 0.8%, 0.4%, 0.2%, 0.1%, and 0.05% based on the weight/volume (w/v). All tested concentrations can inhibit the growth rate of Enterococcus faecalis bacteria. The most effective concentration in the course of bacterial growth rate was 0.08% (p <0.05). The EEP from Apis trigona bees effectively inhibit the growth of Enterococcus faecalis bacteria.
