HUBUNGAN I/T RATIO DENGAN JUMLAH TROMBOSIT PADA PASIEN SEPSIS NEONATUS
Abstract
newborn. As the clinical manifestations are vague and non-specific, it is pertinent that an early diagnosis is made to prevent serious morbidity and mortality. Neonatal sepsis is a clinical syndrome resulting from the pathophysiological effects of very severe bacterial infections that occur in the first month of life. Infection that occurs in the neonate can cause some changes in blood cells either erythrocytes, leukocytes, or platelet. Prevalence of neonatal sepsis is more often happened in developing country than developed country. Platelets is smallest element in the blood vessels. Platelets in activation after contact with a wall surface endotelia. Platelets formed in the bone marro. An >0.2 I/T Ratio believed as the sign of septicemia in newborn baby. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between I/T Ratio and platelets count in neonatal sepsis to accelerate the diagnostic process. Methods: : The research methode used is analytic observational prospective study with cross sectional design, Research subjects are 103 neonates with sepsis which recorded on medical record from January 2013 to March 2017 at RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Analysis of data used spearman correlation test to determine the relationship of I / T Ratio with leukocyte count in neonatal sepsis. Result : Prevalence in neonatal sepsis patients categorized as early onset sepsis is higher than late onset sepsis (66.9%:33.1%). Based on gender, male more likely experience neonatal sepsis than female (58.3%:41.7%), neonatal sepsis patients who have birthweight 2500 g is higher in comparison with patients who have birthweight <2500g (67%;33%) The average of the result of I/T ratio 0.16, an average birth weight 2731. In analysis result using spearman correlation test found the correlation of 0.079 (weak and negative correlation). Conclusion: There is no significant correlation between I/T ratio and the number of platelets neonatal sepsis patients in RS PKU Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta 0.068 correlation and p=0,492.
