      Abstract
      This research is aimed to (1) investigate ummi method the implementation of tahfidz Al-Qur’an program (2) to investigate how ummi is implemented in tahfidz Al-Qur’an program in integrated Islamic elementary school (SDIT) Insan utama tamantirto, kasihan, Bantul, and (3) to investigate the obstacles faced by the teachers in implementing the tahfidz Al-Qur’an program in integrated Islamic elementary school (SDIT) Insan utama tamantirto, kasihan, Bantul. This research carried out descriptive qualitative approach aimed to describe the implemation of ummi method in tahfidz Al-Quran program. In other words, this descriptive qualitative research is aimed to gather information on the existing condition. This research was conducted in SDIT Insan Utama Tamantirto Kasihan Bantul. The findings of the research show that (1) the concept of ummi method focused more on the tahsin of Al Qur’an and the volumes of Al Qur’an, but tahfidz Al-qur’an in this context refers to concept development of ummi method that is tahsin of Al-Qur’an. (2) In its implementation, ummi method can be implemented in the program of tahfidz Al-qur’an as well because the tahsin of Al qur’an still uses Al-Quran and this tahfidz Al-Qur’an becomes one alternative at schools to teach the students tahsin of Al-Qur’an. (3) the obstacles faced by the SDIT Insan Utama is lack of supports from the parents, unviability of ustadzah of tahfidz/nim, and inadequate facilities and infrastructure. Therefore, the teaching and learning process is not effective.
