This research aims to investigate studen' perpection toward the impact of collaborative learning on student motivation to speak english in junior high school grade eight of Muallimat yogyakarta.the main reason fr the selection of collaborative learning method is because this method is verry effective and can make student become more active because students are riquired to disscus by giving ideas ,or knowledge that they understand.to obtain the data,the researcher employed qualitative approach with interview.the respondens of this research were students of Muallimat Yogyakarta grade eight.I have four students of them is girl.for the data analysis ,the results from the interview were coded,clarifi to respondents,presentation and then draw concluision
