KONTRIBUSI ALUMNI PENDIDIKAN PESANTREN PADA MASYARAKAT
Abstract
This research is motivated by the least number of students of Islamic Boarding School alumni who is willing to contribute to society and by the large number of students of Islamic Boarding School alumni who is not willing to contribute or to simply participate in social events. There is indeed not few living in boarding house who prefer hanging out with their peers to contribute in social events. This research is aimed at (1) identifying the contribution of students of Islamic Boarding School alumni toward society, and at (2) identifying how is the contribution of students of Islamic Boarding School alumni toward society.
The researcher used qualitative approach with descriptive pattern, with subjects of Islamic Boarding School alumni who are currently students of Islamic Education Study Program of Islamic Religion Faculty of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Data were gathered through interview as the main method, observation, and documentation as supporting method. The compiled data were analyzed descriptively.
The result indicated that: (1) the contribution made by students of Islamic Boarding School alumni were in forms of: contribution in religious field, contribution in health field, contribution in character education and contribution in social field; and (2) the contribution of students of Islamic Boarding School in religious and social field were conduted excellently, contribution in health field and character education are relatively good, the tendency of the contribution made by students of Islamic Boarding School is in the field of religion and social. Contribution made by students of Islamic Boarding School toward villagers were supported by organization and there were only 4 (40%) out of 10 people who made individual contribution
