Abstract
Growing quality motor in an era right now can make this mode of transportation more favored by the people. Quality motorcycle course is determined by several components in it, one of which, namely the ignition system. If the ignition system is good and proper course of the motor can work with maximum. To make the performance more motor maximum, then some component of the ignition system need to be replaced, among others, namely the CDI and spark plugs. Replacement CDI and standard spark plugs with CDI and spark plugs racing is expected to be able to create better motor performance.
The research was carried out using 4 variation of the CDI standard, a standard spark plug, the spark plug, and racing CDI racing. The first step undertaken was to test the spark on the spark plugs. Then, test the performance of the motorcycle at the time of dynotest to find results of torque and power. And then the last one is by testing the fuel consumption according speed and distance.
The results showed that the variation of the CDI I-Max BRT with spark plugs iridium more dominate than the other variations. On testing the spark Sparks, a variation of the CDI I-Max BRT with iridium spark plugs produce sparks the most pleasant with temperatures of approximately 8000-9500 K and a flame sparks are constant. CDI BRT I-Max with spark plugs iridium also produce the most good motor performance by generating power and torque. The power obtained i.e. amounting to 10.1 HP, torque of 12.59 N.m. On fuel consumption testing, standards with standard spark plug CDI earns the most efficient consumption of 52.54 km/l, while the CDI I-Max BRT with spark plugs iridium gets results of 51.90 km/l.
