      Abstract
Background: Hypertension is a condition where a person's blood pressure is above the normal or optimal limit of 120 mmHg for systolic and 80 mmHg for diastolic. This disease is categorized as a silent disease because the patient can not suffer from hypertension before checking his blood pressure. Continuous hypertension can be a stroke, heart attack, heart failure and is a major cause of chronic renal failure. This study aims to determine the relationship between blood pressure levels in Sleman regency, Yogyakarta Method: This research is an observational analytic research with cross-sectional approach. The population in this study is hypertensive patients who are in the region of Sleman, Yogyakarta. Seed samples 90 respondents. Data analysis was done univariate and bivariate using Chi-Square test with alpha 5% significance value (α = 0,05). Result: The conclusion of this research is the correlation between the level of education with responses of pressure on the respondent (p = 0,001), and level of knowledge about hypertension with pressure on the respondent (p = 0,003). Conclusion: Suggestions for respondents who always improve the level of knowledge about hypertension for those who still have a level of poor knowledge, and conduct regular checks on hypertension that have blood pressure on the respondent can be well controlled and does not cause serious complications.
