      Abstract
      Sleman regency is one of the most interesting and desirable areas for foreign investment purposes and develops the market of multinational corporations, especially in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The reasons behind the high level of foreign direect investment in Sleman are caused by several internal and external factors which are, the interests of multinational corporations for market expansion into host countries and the "friendly" policy of Sleman Local Government towards foreign direct investment. The relation between multinational corporations with Sleman regency which was selected as the host government that makes the interdependence relationship interesting to study. This research aims to explain why multinational corporations choose Sleman as host government and the policies taken by Sleman Local Government about the high foreign direct investment in Sleman. Through qualitative methods by conducting content analysis on secondary data and using interviews to obtain primary data.
