      Abstract
      A Waste Bank is a place to do waste transactions, manage waste that is not used, so that the waste can be sold or recycled. The Karesma Waste Bank is an independent selfsupporting organization located in Kaliabu. The Karesma Waste Bank aims to awaken the community to care for the environment. This research uses descriptive qualitative approach, by conducting interviews, observation, and documentation photograph, so that researcher can know form and mechanism of community participation in management of Karesma Waste Bank in Kaliabu RW 13. The result of this research indicates that Karesma Waste Bank has run well . These activities include sorting waste, handing over waste, weighing waste, recording waste, selling waste, and sharing the waste sale. There are some things that become obstacles of Karesma Waste Bank at this time is the low active participation from the community in Kaliabu, because the active in managing Karesma Waste Bank only 20 people of 125 members. In addition, the lack of marketing of handicraft products from recycled waste products. It is suggested to the management of Karesma Waste Bank to be more active in socializing to the public to participate in managing the Karesma Waste Bank, so that activities in managing waste and maintaining the environment can be effective and better.
