      Abstract
The influence of gap and voltage parameter on material removal rate (MRR) and overcut (OC) of custome built electrochemical machine has been investigated. Stainless steel plate 316 series with thickness of 0.4 mm as workpieces were machined using 3 mm diameter unisolated brass rod electrode in flowing sodium chloride as electrolyte. Experiments were carried out with the developed set up by varying the machining voltage and initial workpiece-to-electrode gap. Whilst the MRR was calculated from the weight loss measurement, image analysis was applied to determine OC. The result shows that increase in machining voltage and gap result in MRR and OC getting higher due to enhancing ion's mobility and conductivity for conduction
