      Abstract
      Background: Asthma is a chronic disease and a global health problem that affects people of all ages. Worldwide, approximately 235–300 million people suffer from asthma and among children, asthma is the most common chronic disease tract with a high prevalence in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Improving significant the knowledge, attitude, and behaviour is important done by the asthma itself. Health promotion on asthma and breathing exercises Buteyko has benefits to improve the quality of life of asthma sufferers. This study aims to determine the effect of health promotion on asthma on significant the knowledge, attitude, and behaviour of people with asthma. Method: Cross Sectional Descriptive Analysis conducted on 40 asthma patients in pulmonary department on RS PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital in April to July 2017 using statistical application. Result: Characteristics of asthma patients in PKU Muhammadiyah Gamping Hospital were women (70%), the majority of respondents had normal BMI criteria (50%), and the majority of respondents were 41-64 years old (55%). The result of Cross Sectional analysis showed that the average of knowledge, attitude, behaviour from the total of 40 Asthma patients was 2.15, 1.47, 2.05.
