      Abstract
      Background: Anxiety is often regarded as a negative thing for the development of human personality. However, this can only happen if the anxiety occurs in excessive levels. Whereas if managed properly, anxiety tends to have a positive effect on human personality development. Because actually anxiety is an adaptive response of the body that serves as a warning of something that can threaten human safety. Therefore, a way to control anxiety is required, especially in adolescents who are undergoing puberty. One of them is through enjoying classical music. Objective: To know the influence of classical music on anxiety in grade 3 students at SMP N 4 Depok. Methods: Preliminary experimental studies were conducted on 32 samples divided into two groups, experimental (musical) and control (non-musical) groups. Anxiety was monitored by using TMAS questionnaire, while for musical intervention researcher use Mozart music with the title piano sonata K 448. Data analysis was done by using paired T-test, then continued with independent sample T-test. Results: In the experimental group there were 13 students (81.25%) who experienced a decrease in TMAS score, while in the control group only 7 students (43.75%). In addition, there was a significant difference in mean TMAS score change of 4.94, which the experimental group experiencing a more significant decrease. Conclusions: There was an influence between classical music enjoyment on anxiety in grade 3 students presented by a significant larger reduction of mean TMAS score in the experimental group.
