      Abstract
      Background: Prevalence of hypertension at the age of 18-39 years as much as 7.3% and will increase along with increasing age. Riskesdas 2013 data show the prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia from the measurement results that age ≥18 years incidence of hypertension sebesa 25.8%. Age 18 years in general is a group of students or students. Research Objective: The purpose of this study was to identify hypertension risk factors that can be changed In Students Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta. Methodology: This research uses cross sectional method by filling out the questionnaire. Sampling technique using accidental sampling which amounted to 94 respondents from four study program at Faculty of Engineering UMY. The data analysis used is univariate. Result: The results showed that the percentage of hypertension risk factors that can be changed in the students of Faculty of Engineering Muhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta based on the sub variable risk factor of hypertension respondents categorized risk of obesity as much as 11.7%, smoking behavior as much as 51.1%, alcohol consumption as much as 3.2 %, stress 91,5%, coffee consumption 26,6%, high salt food consumption 74,5% and habit of exercise 67,0%. The study respondents were predominantly male and were 20 years old. Conclusion: The percentage of hypertension risk factors that can be changed based on sub variable of obesity, alcohol consumption, coffee consumption most of the respondents categorized no risk of hypertension. While the sub variable of smoking, stress, high salt food consumption and habit of exercise of respondents categorized risk of hypertension
