      Abstract
The dominance of GRDP value from agriculture sector has not been aligned with food production in Kabupaten Belitung. In 2015 recorded that 93% of total demand for rice in Kabupaten Belitung imported from outside the region. On the other hand, the rate of population growth is high. If efforts to increase food production were not maximized, it is feared that Kabupaten Belitung will be difficult to achieve food self-sufficiency condition. This study aims to determine the superior and potential commodities at the district level in Kabupaten Belitung as an effort to increase food production based on the potential of its territory. The data that used in this study was production during the period of ten years from 2007 to 2016. Data obtained from the official website of Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) Kabupaten Belitung. This study used LQ and shift share as a method analysis. The result of analysis shows that superior commodities in Kabupaten Belitung were field rice and corn, while potential commodities were paddy rice, field rice, cassava, corn, sweet potatoes and peanut.
