      Abstract
      Purworejo as areas that had the potential for landslides because of high rainfall as well as a portion of its territory lies in the slopes.In addition the residency in Purworejo always increase every year with less public awareness of the existence of a potential landslide disaster in was territory and the territories of Purworejo Setup that was still not good. A research purpose to mapping the region prone to disastrous landslides in Purworejo. The method used was the method the survey analyzed in spatial and descriptive. Method of determination of location based on factors of soil texture, soil, slope of the solum depth slopes, rock types, soil permeability, rainfall and land use. Each type of map that needed done classification based on score and given more weight then overlay. The results of this research in Purworejo had three classes of landslide insecurity that is contained in a map, class insecurity landslide lower with a total area of 1,325 hectares, class insecurity landslides were with the area of 66,414 hectares and class insecurity landslide with high extents of 39,293 hectares. As for efforts to prevent the occurrence of landslides are divided based on class insecurity landslide.
