      Abstract
Complete denture is defined as a removable dental prosthesis used to replace the missing tooth in maxilla and mandible arch. When complete denture is used continuously and not properly cleaned, it will cause inflammation in the oral mucosa where the denture base is attached. Complete denture can be cleaned mechanically, chemically, or a combination of both. The purpose of this research is to find out the description of acrylic resin complete denture hygiene status in patients at UMY dental hospital. The research method is descriptive with cross-sectional design. The total of sample used is 34 subjects with sampling technique by probability sampling with purposive sampling. Complete denture hygiene status is assessed with denture hygiene index, known as Denture Cleanliness Index (DCI). Data were analyzed with descriptive univariat by calculating the frequency of distribution. The result showed that 54.2% of subjects cleansed their complete dentures using toothbrush and toothpaste methode with moderate hygiene status, and 53.3% of subjects cleansed their complete denture twice a day with moderate hygiene status.
