      Abstract
      Background:A person's behavior to maintain perineal hygiene is due to his knowledge of perineal hygiene along with the information he gets. Along with the development of the times, electronic media is very possible as a medium in changing the behavior of one's perineal hygiene, one of them is by using video. Goal: To know the effect of perineal hygiene education through audio visual media towards perineal hygiene behavior on the students of SMPN 2 Kasihan. Research Method: Pre-experiment with pre test dan post test with control group design as the research design. This study used two groups namely intervention group and control group. The sample used in the study were 42 respondents, consisted of 21 respondents of intervention group and 21 respondents of control group. The sampling thechnique used was non probability sampling namely random samplingTo know the respondents in the control group and the data intrvention group used were non parametric statistic ie wilcoxon and Mann-Whithney test. Results:Wilcoxon statistic test showed that there was can an effect of perineal hygiene education through audiovisual media to the perineal hygiene behavior student in SMPN 2 Kasihan on intervention group with p value (0,034). There was not the effect of education through perineal hygiene behavior on control group with p value (0,317). Whereas in Mann-Whitney test, showed that there was significant different of perineal hygiene education throught audiovisual media to the perineal hygiene behavior student in SMPN 2 Kasihan on control and intervention group after the intervention with p value (0,007). Conclusion: There was the effect of perineal hygiene education through audiovisual media to the perineal hygiene behavior student in SMPN 2 Kasihan.
