      Abstract
      This research about correlation of listening ability with speaking ability. The purpose of this research is to know the ability of listening and speaking ability as well as to find the correlation of listening with speaking ability the student level I semester one in the Japanese Language Education department of Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta University from the results of the final value competence courses in Shokyu Kikitori and Kaiwa Nyumon. This research used correlation method. The data obtained from the results of the final value competence course in Shokyu Kikitori and Kaiwa Nyumon. Then the data is calculated using the application of SPSS version 24. While, to be find the information of courses Shokyu Kikitori and Kaiwa Nyumon are obtained from interview of lecturer courses Shokyu Kikitori and Kaiwa Nyumon. Based on the result of the course in Shokyu Kikitori and Kaiwa Nyumon found a correlation because it has a value significant of this correlation. The result of the data shows the t value = 0,575 > r table = 0,5. Then the working hypothesis accepted to the degree of correlation is being. As well as the average value of the course in Shokyu Kikitori is 53,3 in the qualification the less (40,5-55,4), however the result of the average value of the course in Kaiwa Nyumon is 80,9 in the kualitifasi is very good (80,5-85,4).
