      Abstract
      This study aims to explain abaut the cooperation in the military field between Indonesia and China as name Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the People’s Republic of China on Cooperation Activities in the Field of Defence which was established on 7 November 2007 in Beijing, hereinafter referred to as the agreement. Content in other policies that work together with information exchange and protection, staff exchange in the context of professional education and training, reciprocal visits, and joint research. With that, this research is used to find out the reasons the Indonesian government make coorporation with the Chinese military. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative decision making process and supported. While the data used in this study are primary data (interview) and secondary (literature study). The findings used in this study are that Indonesia make cooperation in the military field between Indonesia and China is influenced by the military situation experienced by Indonesia, such as the Indonesian military economic condition, and issues related to the South China Sea and nationalism.
