      Abstract
The Indonesian government has created a health insurance program to provide health protection for the community. Almost of the people in Indonesia are members of National Health Insurance (NHI). Treatments for the members of NHI especially in the case of selecting drug use are based on the National Formulary. This aims to improve the quality of health services by increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of treatment so that the drug use is achieved rationally. This study aimed to determine the suitability percentage of the use of antihypertensive drugs and it's comorbidity in NHI patients based on the National Formulary. The design of this study was a descriptive observational study with a cross-sectional approach and retrospective data collection in hospitalized hypertensive patients atRSJD Dr. RM. Soedjarwadi. Data were collected from 122 medical records which fit the inclusion criteria. The data obtained were then analyzed using national formularies and related journals. It can be concluded from the results of research that the percentage of antihypertensive drug in the hospital is widely using Amlodipine 10 mg from CCB group (34.16%), Candesartan 8 mg from ARB group (12.38%), Captopril 12.5 mg from ACEI group (5.45%), and furosemid injection 10 mg / ml from the diuretic group (8.42%). Suitability percentage of hypertension drug use with National Formulary is 93.33% while the percentage of other drugs in accordance with National Formulary is 67.24%, not available in National Formulary is 18.97% and drugs that are not in accordance with National Formulary is 13.79%.
