      Abstract
      This research is a phenomenological study of the use of social media as a channel for the promotion of commercial sex services in Yogyakarta. The phenomenon of online prostitution is very interesting to study, because this phenomenon from the past until now continues. This research is a qualitative research using an approach that is a phenomenology of qualitative research methods in a phenomenological approach trying to understand the meaning (seeking meaning) of events and their relationships with ordinary people in certain situations. Sources of data obtained by researchers obtained from observation and in-depth interviews with informants and customers. The selection of informants as data sources in this study is based on the principle of subjects who master the problem, have data, and are willing to provide complete and accurate information. The results of the study show that the process of communication and transactions of commercial sex workers is facilitated by the existence of new media (social media). The ease of access and coverage that is so broad without limitation makes commercial sex workers take advantage of technological developments in marketing services. Through Beetalk, commercial sex workers seem to have information motives to disseminate information in the form of services offered through the beetalk application and interact with their customers.
