Abstract
This study discusses the phenomena of the United States and America in the context of the war on drugs in Mexico in 2006-2016 has not been successful. This research uses descriptive qualitative method with technique of secondary data information. Mexico is a country faced with narcotic drugs and drugs including cannabis (marijuana), Methampethamine and several other variants, which is home to some Mexicans.
From this study it can be understood that the involvement of the United States along with other international factions in war on drugs in Mesiko turned out to be until 2016 has not shown success. This can not be separated from the orientations of United States policy makers towards the development of international terrorissm issues which is more a priority for the Country.
The failure of the cooperation between United States and Mexico in war on drugs agreements which is indicated by the ongoing conflict until the end of 2016, it can not be separated from the development of this problem as a form of extra ordinary crimes, among others related to the emergence of new problems of money laundering. This problem evolved as a result of illegal transactions that were allegedly used to fund drugs production operations. A further failure for this cooperation is the emergence of corruption cases, in which drug cartels deliberately carry out the action to obtain security guarantees in running their business. This can be seen from the index of corruption perception that is still bad which also shows the number of unscrupulous Mexican state officials those seek personal gain in drug trafficking in the country.
Then the next factor that led the war on drugs in mexico to the failure was the ability of drug cartels to gain access to weapons and other supporting facilities, such as vehicles and weaponry that made drug cartels more difficult to overcome. Then war on drugs in Mexico is growing more complicated because the involvement of international actors, including FARC (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia) and Hezbollah.
