KONSEP PARENTING PADA PENDIDIKAN PRENATAL DALAM PERSPEKTIF ISLAM
Abstract
This study aims to understand the concept of prenatal education from Islamic perspective according to a work of Muhammad Nur Abdul Hafizh Suwaid entitled Prophetic Patenting. Furthermore, this study also seeks to investigate the way the concept can be implemented in modern prenatal education.
This study is a qualitative library research. The primary source of data is the book “Prophetic Parenting ; Cara Nabi Mendidik Anak”, while the secondary sources including books such as Menyambut Buah Hati (Bekal Menyiapkan Anak Shaleh Pada Masa Golden Age), Mendidik Anak dalam Kandungan (Menurut Ajaran Pedagogis Islam), Begini Segarusnya Mendidik Anak (Panduan Mendidik Anak Sejak Masa Kandungan Hingga Dewasa), Pedoman Pendidikan Anak dalam Islam, Peran Ayah Menuju Coparenting, Sukses Mendidik Anak, and journal articles relevant to the topic of this study. Data collected from the sources are analyzed using content analysis method.
The result of this study reveals that according to Muhammad Nur Abdul Hafiz Suwaid the aims of prenatal education is to build a child’s character stage by stage until it reaches the perfect state”. There are several prenatal duties in Suwaid’s concept of parenting, including; parent’s responsibility to educate the children, choosing a pious spouse, characteristic of successful educators, treating child as the jewellery of the world, the effect of parent’s religiosity on children, praying before making love, Prophetic methods in educating children, how to influence the mind of a child, how to influence the soul of a child, Islamic character building. The prenatal education from Islamic perspective can be implemented in three areas, namely prenatal education, children development from prenatal point of view, and methods in educating children from prenatal point of view.
