      Abstract
Background: Women must be able to differentiate menstrual blood and istihadah blood (blood that come out of vagina other than menstrual and puerperal blood) because it is related to the laws of worship. One way to differentiate is by observing the menstrual cycle of women around them, which is known as the phenomenon of menstrual synchrony. Several factors that influence this are poor menstrual hygiene and low stress level. Based on that, a research at Asrama Shofiyah was conducted since a research on menstrual synchrony had not been conducted. Research Objective: To learn the overview of menstrual synchrony based on factors of stress level and menstrual hygiene in female teenagers at Asrama Shofiyah Madrasah Mu’allimat Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta in 2017. Research Methodology: The type of research is descriptive observational using cohort design. The subjects of the research, 78 people were gathered using total sampling technique. Menstrual synchrony was calculated based on Weller and Weller calculation (1997). The data of menstrual hygiene were obtained from questionnaires adopted from Yuliana (2010) , while stress level used DASS 42 questionnaire. The data analysis used descriptive analysis. Research Result: Most respondents, 51,28 % experienced menstrual synchrony, 89,74% respondents had good menstrual hygiene and the stress level of 71,79 was in normal category. Conclusion: Menstrual synchrony occurs in most females students of Asrama Shofiyah with good menstrual hygiene and normal stress level.
