      Abstract
      Background. Aging was one factor that influences the level of physical activity in the elderly. Decreasing the level of physical activity can affect the deterioration of the quality of life of the elderly. Objective. To know the description of physical activity level in elderly in Ngebel, Tamantirto, Kasihan, Bantul, Yogyakarta Methods. This study was descriptive quantitative design with cross-sectional approach. The sample of this research was 75 respondents by total sampling technique. The research instrument used GPAQ and MET. The data was analyzed by unvaried. Result. Physical activity level by GPAQ showed that the respondent had moderate physical activity as much as 34 respondents (45.3%) with average of active time 64.1% and sedentary time 35.9%, light physical activity 27 respondents 36%) with an average active time of 21.1% and 78.9% for sedentary time, heavy physical activity 14 respondents (18.7%) with an average of 81.2% active time and 18.8% time for sedentary. MET instrument had the result thay the majority had moderate activity level with 39 respondents (52%) with mean MET ± SD was 1,926 ± 649.19, 7 respondents (9.3%) had low activity with average MET ± SD was 343 ± 227.23 and as much as 29 respondents (38.7%) have high physical activity level with mean MET ± SD is 9.787 ± 8688.65. Conclusion: The majority of elderly in Ngebel have moderate level of physical activity. Elderly are expected to maintain or even increase physical activity in order to obtain a good quality of life.
