      Abstract
Background: Restoration material keeps developing to cover some lacks with various modifications. Restoration that is clinically accepted has the most similar color with real teeth and has a long-term stability. The color changes in teeth restoration especially in anterior teeth will decrease one’s confidence. One of the cases that needs dental aesthetics is class V restoration. The materials used for class V are conventional GIC, RMGIC, and compomer. Research Objective: To find out the influence of soft drink (Coca-cola) toward the color changes of conventional GIC, RMGIC, and compomer in class V restoration. Research Method: Research type used was pure laboratory experimental design. The samples used were 27 teeth divided into 3 groups. The samples were prepared to form cavity class V. Group I would be restored using conventional GIC (GC Fuji II A3), group II would be restored using RMGIC (GC Fuji II LC A3), and group III would be restored using compomer (Dyract eXtra A3). Then, the samples were immersed in Coca-cola for 7 days. The value of sample color was measured before and after the immersion using Spectrophotometer UV-2401 PC (SHIMADZU). Research Result: The three groups of restoration materials tested show significant color changes respectively after being immersed in soft drink (Cocacola). Conventional GIC shows the highest color change while compomer shows the lowest color change. Conclusion: There is influence of soft drink (Coca-cola) toward the color chages of conventional GIC, RMGIC, and compomer.
